Analyzed federal legislation and regulations and state implementation options to identify best practices for minimizng coverage loss and protecting vulnerable populations
Benefit Modernization
Led major project that provided TA to states and advocates on transforming the delivery of public benefits so people can receive the full range of supports for which they are eligible, reducing churn and increasing enrollment.
Protecting Immigrant Families Campaign
Launched and led multi-sector campaign to respond to Trump 1.0 public charge regulations. Built quality and quantity comment strategy that delayed implementation and laid the ground to overturn the harmful policy.
Uses of TANF & Emergency Fund
During Great Recession, identified that states were leaving TANF Emergency Fund money on the table. Wrote clear explainer of how funds can be used, and delivered intensive TA and advocacy, resulting in states drawing down full $5 billion.
